About i-luv-games.com
i-luv-games.com is an entirely free site.  What does that mean?  That means that the site is free from advertisements, annoying pop-ups, and hassle free.  I wanted people who browse the site to be able to peruse it with as much ease as possible and hopefully get something out of it.  That also means I make absolutely no money from this site.  This doesn't mean I'm not open to donations though  -  (I'll gladly accept any money, games, gift items, etc...  but please, no dirty laundry, half-eaten food or second hand toilet paper)     ;-P

i-luv-games was created by me out of a strong interest in indie games and came together slowly through patience and a passion for all video games as a form of entertainment...  One could debate the whole question - "Are video games a form of art?".   Everyone has their own opinion, mine is simple - I don't know much about art, but I know what I like.  I do, however, know much about video games and there are a great many that I like.  This site is my way of showing appreciation to the Independant video game community.  Hopefully the site will grow into something that I hope others will come to enjoy and find useful as well.

I have been playing video games since the original Pong came out (but you wouldn't believe me if I told you that I was still wearing diapers at that time).  Through a stroke of luck, I've been able to use a lot of the old and commonly known PC's, throughout my life, some of which ran on a 9 volt battery (Sinclair, Apple ][+, Commodore 64, Tandy, Amiga, IBM, etc. etc... you get the picture).  I've also played almost every gaming console known to man and even owned quite a few of them (eBay is great, 0.01 cent for a video game system...  $45 dollars for shipping).  Atari 2600, Nintendo, Sega Master System, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, 3D0, Jaguar, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Playstation 1 and 2, Xbox, Xbox 360 (phew, I'm outta breath) but you name it...  I've either owned it or played the heck out of it at a friends house.

Technology hasn't necessarily always gotten better, just more complicated, and while the same thing could be said about video games, the scope and imagination that was video games back in the early and late 80's can truly be realised today by those of us who lived through the birth of house-hold video games.

Video games are now commonplace and are a very popular form of entertainment among kids and adults.  Today, mainstream gaming has a hold on the masses rivaling the grip that Hollywood has on young people.  However, independently developed games are still a huge innovation in the gaming scene and particularly for those of us who remember what games are supposed to be about: Pure and simple fun!

This is the reason I decided to create i-luv-games.com.  It is a sort of homage to gaming developers who don't always get noticed, games that aren't big at the "Box Office", and gamers who play games that their friends may have never heard of...  Even if Indie Games are not quite mainstream, indie developers do have one distinct advantage over the mainstream developers and that is creative control.  Probably the most important and unique aspects of indie games are the way a developer either takes a great gaming idea and makes it better (or worse in some instances), or gives birth to a completely crazy idea that would never work in the mainstream yet works surprisingly well for an indie game.  A lot of innovative ideas have come from the games of yester-year but also from indie games.  So rather than having a site with banners and advertisements, this site is sort of one big advertisement and billboard for indie games and it's friendly community.  Hopefully this will help promote indie games and expose an area of gaming that isn't as well known nor, perhaps, as popular as mainstream gaming, while attracting the attention of veteran gamers and newcomers along the way.

Special Thanks Goes To:
My beautiful wife and kids, my parents and brothers, family and friends for their support;  indie Game developers around the world for continuing to be creative and thoughtful and inspiring others with new ideas;  the mainstream gaming industry, without whom I'd be a much richer man;   ;-P    and last but not least, thanks to Russell Galvin (www.russellgalvin.com), a family friend who has been generous enough to provide this space for me in order to produce this site and its content, all of which I'm passionate about.
